Animatronic Halloween Props - Cardboard Carpentry

Posted by Unknown

One of the most uncostly ways to generate stonewalls in your home/haunt is by using good-'ol cardboard boxes. Boxes laid flat and painted to the desired consequent are relatively easy and cheap methods of creating stonewall effects.

The availability of the material is stunning. In fact, most people and businesses are more than willing to give up large, bulky cardboard boxes taking up costly space. It's incredibly lightweight and the whole of cardboard to re-do an mean bedroom can be hefted by one person.

Animated Halloween Props

Another plus is that if your cache of cardboard is destroyed..........So What? More is all the time available, and except for painting time and material, free seems incredibly cost effective.

Animatronic Halloween Props - Cardboard Carpentry

Cardboard is not only for just good for exterior walls, it can be used structurally to generate walls, columns, and facades and look good while doing so.

And the all so prominent off-season warehouse dilemma is covered here as well. Since cardboard is unquestionably folded, it stacks well vertically or horizontally.

Acquiring Cardboard

So right now you're probably thinking about you local grocer and how he helped you out with some boxes on your last move. Well unless carrots start growing six feet tall forget it!

We need quadrate footage with as wee piecing together as possible. Washers, dryers, water heaters, and cabinets are perfect boxes for wall work. Refrigerator and freezer boxes are the crème-de-la-crème of cardboard scavenging.

The best place to find All these kinds of boxes is in new residential construction. It's hard not to tell when the plumbers have "topped out" all the fixtures in the construction as a huge stack of boxes appears in the waste heap. That's right .........Waste. I refer to these occurrences as "Box Days"

You may want to ask permission from the sites superintendent to avoid unneeded arrests, but I can approximately certify that nobody's going to object to you removing bulky waste from the housing tract.

Kitchen and bathroom cabinets that have been purchased from major output outlets ship boxed. They tend not to be cut like someone was chewing their way out, like some washer, dryer and water heater boxes are, as the heavy appliances are maneuvered out of their boxes and into place. Keeping an eye out on a tract or two of new houses is key to discovering box days.

Box days also occur when people move into their new home as well. You would be surprised at how many people clean through their stuff After the move to the new house. Regularly these boxes are either driven or carried nearby the angle to a trash heap and left there.

You can also score bonus finds in move-in rubbish such as motors, trim, paint, gears and old household stuff to turn into Halloween goodies and nobody unquestionably cares if they are removed.

Actually they're not even supposed to be there in the first place.

By all means observe other venues where large boxed items are opened frequently, such as freight warehouses and import companies, but in this authors opinion, new and developing housing is the source worth watching.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Corrugated board Regularly consists of outer flat sheets (veneers) of puncture defiant paper, sandwiching a central "filling" of corrugated short fiber paper (fluting), which resists crushing under compression and gives cushioning safety to the box's contents. The cardboard has high end-to-end compel along the corrugated flutes, so the box is Regularly designed with the corrugation running vertically for stacking strength.

The veneers and corrugated medium are glued together along the outsides of the peaks and valleys of each flute, Regularly using starch adhesives. The starch adhesives are Regularly derived from corn, wheat or potato.

We are involved with the double face cardboard because of its availability. Occasionally construction materials such as sheetrock mud, lacquer, and cement will splash onto the sheets of cardboard and dry while in the trash. Most substances will come off with a uncomplicated brush of the hand or with a stiff broom. You can take off more stubborn areas with a quadrate nosed shovel, inverted so the underside of the scoop is up. This will forestall the shovel from digging into the corrugation.

Cardboard that has been exposed to water, rain, or other moisture will separate and delaminate the veneers from the corrugation.

Preparations

So first thing you want to do to get started is to cut the flaps free at the top and the lowest of the box so the flaps remain intact. Find the seam where the machine glued the box together and cut along the crease originally made when the box was assembled. Don't bother trying to save the flap here as it Regularly tears the veneer from the corrugation.

Lay the box flat on the ground so all of the flaps are visible. Observation the notches die cut into the sheet where the flaps once folded? Run a piece of 2" masking tape, beginning from the exterior edge of the box, all along the notch, plus about 2-3" beyond and into the field. Repeat for all the notches then walk or slide your foot along the tape to acquire it well then turn the sheet over. We are going to tape these same notches again only a wee bit different.

This time start your strips of tape about 2-3" inside the field, similar to the other sides ending point, but when you reach the exterior edge, run the tape about 4-6" longer than the boxes edge. acquire the strip with your foot then carefully fold this extra tape over and onto the tape from the first side.

This will enlarge and fill the gap created by the notch. The extra tape that is folded over the edge to the other side prevents it from tearing into flaps again.

Delaminated cardboard should be trimmed back to areas where the glue still adheres the layers together. Using a sharp razor knife and a long, strait cutting edge makes this a uncomplicated task.

Trim any holes up by cutting a quadrate or rectangle area nearby the damage. Then cut a scrap of cardboard that fits inside this area loosely(1/8" gap). Taping both sides of cardboard with a 4" overlap beyond any 90 degree angled corners is good to acquire it in place.

Most rips and tears in cardboard can be re-joined simply by pushing them together, and taping both sides with 1" overlapping strips of 2" tape until the piece feels sturdy along the tear As always, any rips that tears through the exterior edge should be taped with a 4-6" overlapping strip.

Whatever you do, don't spend more time taping together small pieces than you could finding a decent box! Before taping up sheets like jigsaw puzzles, stop and evaluate the allembracing beneficial quadrate footage you have to deal with. Is there more than 80% of the box intact? Do I have to fill a lot of punctures and tears?

A box with 20% fill and mend is approximately too much work considering the availability of boxes. You have to ultimately determine if a box is worth your efforts or not.

Shortages of money for tape can be a factor. I all the time keep on the watch for discarded rolls of partially used tape while digging through the construction rubble. A lot of contractors leave behind all distinct kinds of tape. Ductape (not very paintable but strong as hell!) is all the time in abundance nearby tract home sites. The tape the stucco lathers use nearby here to seal their 3/4" foam board is The Best for our intended application. It is pretty much a veneer with adhesive and it paints just like cardboard.

Painting

First off, lets cover some of my economical basics of paint and painting supplies. Never throw away rollers unless you unquestionably have to! Remember that most Halloween paints are black and grays, so washing out the color is near impossible. If adequate paint is washed out the roller it becomes soft and fluffy and totally re-useable. It will still be black or gray but rinsing out adequate paint to save some money isn't that much work.

Most hardware stores, back in the paint section, have what they call an "oops" area. An oops area is where all the custom coloring is done.......sometimes twice. The quart, gallon, and five gallon containers from the employees first attempts at the customers colors are Regularly reduced price steals. Where else are you going to find five gallons of black 30 year exterior latex enamel for .00? Concrete paints, porch and deck polymers, and the all the time abundant latex varieties are all victims to colorant errors. This is something I do faithfully every time I enter my Home Depot or Orchard supply Hardware stores. all the time seems to be a gallon black or a shade of gray in there all year long. Beware of the paint Nazi who thinks she can tell you how to paint and with what. Pva primer Can be pigmented.

First thing you're going to do roll on the mortar color first. For the mortar I use a lighter shade of gray than the stone color.....which is best black. Very dark and forbidding. You're going to want to get an prolongation pole for your roller or this might get hard. Broom handles work in a pinch and are even the right thread count. I then park all the vehicles on the street to free up room in the drive. You want fairly firm ground so the job of rolling paint evenly goes easy. Concrete is ideal but I've seen some dirt driveways that will work just as well given all the small stones are raked or swept so as not to poke through the cardboard and to insure even paint coverage. What will not work well is the lawn or your neighbors lawn so just use his driveway instead.

When all the cardboard has been laid out on the driveway and in the garage, I roll a heavy single coat on, being sure to roll the paint into the creases created from the folding of corners in it's old life as a box. The benefit to mass painting is the dry time alone from occasion up a can again and again. As of this writing, the Home Depot in my town doesn't stock them anymore since they informed me that they are just going to hire some teenagers to use the forms to make the pre-made concrete stones they sell now.....hmm.

Orchard supply to the saving once again. The concrete molds have been in stock there forever. So get a walkway mold and align it with on one side or the other of your painted sheet. It's easiest to use a colored pencil similar in color to the color of your base coat. This makes it not so noticeable and you don't all the time stay within the lines so much, right kids? I tried using a Sharpie on one sheet and I hated myself for all the dark, heavy black lines left to cover. Using the mold upside down, trace the contour of the stones out onto the cardboard. Now, lightly scribe the two exterior flanges where the pattern forms a "v" on one side and an "a" on the other side made by the mold's exterior shape. These will be the keys to line up the next areas to be scribed since there's no concrete to line up the mold with again and the mold shape itself makes it hard the judge the length from the last stone to the next to keep the mortar thickness the same. Once I can see the rocks I can't help but miss the ass in my face....yummy.

They best part about this next phase is you get to sit down and paint the stones. The cardboard isn't all that uncomfortable, so the whole house can pitch in and help. I use one of those small foam bushes with soft wee angled bristles. It is set on a curved deal with with relax in mind because painting this way with a standard brush would wish you to post your wrists while painting to stay within the lines. By posting I mean setting your wrist down on a exterior much like when you write with a pencil. But this is like captivating a matchbox car with a tight turn radius nearby the rock patterns we scribed earlier. Other plus of this curved deal with is it allows you to dip the brush directly into the paint can to wet the foam pad. This eliminates the pouring of paint into other smaller containers which wastes paint.

In no time at all you'll have each stones form down to a rhythm. Most all the stones can be completed in two independent form strokes and one more stroke to fill. Try to have an adult go first, stenciling ahead of any children. We know how eager they can be sometimes. Once the mortar coat is dry to the touch, you can stack all the sheets into one pile. Try to complete one sheet at a time. Stencil all of it then paint all the stones as well. Trying to complete a dozen at once is way too splendid of a task, believe you me. The stack is way soft now and every person shouldn't mind painting for a wee bit. No need to have perfectly painted stones because "The Powers That Be" didn't waste His/Her/Their time development them selfsame so neither should you.

Grommets

This is one of the most tools ever overlooked. See form 5. The grommet factory kit. Stores like Harbor Freight sells kits like this for about .99 and comes with something like 100 or so grommets.

The grommet gives us a strong anchor point without worrying about any tearing or ripping or having nails or staples pull away from the wall from it's weight. A small round punch is used to make a perfect circle. I use a small scrap of plywood underneath the cutting performance so as not to dull the cutter. A steel base with 1/2 the grommet poking through the hole is settled below the cardboard. The other 1/2 of the grommet is settled on top of this with a steel punch made to curl the soft metal grommet in the base then smacked with a hammer till it seats down. Do not beat the piss out of it since the grommet since it crimps itself onto the cardboard. You would wind up with an even bigger hole that I'm not quite sure they make grommets for.

Another large plus of grommet is that while you are happily development holes for nails and hooks you might not realize that you are also putting in holes made perfect for bungee cords, the grommets intended purpose. Now you can dangle your cardboard walls overhead and make them ceilings. Shifting walls and ceilings are unquestionably made by stretching out a sheet of cardboard so it is suspended mid air. Using a Pvc or 2 x 2 lightweight frame to stretch and anchor the bungee's to. captivating the frame can unquestionably be concluded with air rams or motors. Even easier is to dangle the sheet on a frame and have it anchored so you can manipulate the cardboard itself. Probably somewhat safer as well.

Cardboard is very versatile and very common. Let's give a real haunted look instead of those shiny black plastic bag ceilings all too common in towns everywhere.

Why We Celebrate Holidays

Posted Friday, July 26, 2013 by Unknown

Most of us celebrate holidays - Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day - but why?

Of course, we celebrate some holidays because of our religious beliefs. However, there are other reasons why we hold to these joyous occasions. These holidays break up the flow of the year and bind us together as families and communities.

Animated Halloween Props

We celebrate holidays because we want to have fun. We want a break from our quarterly schedules, jobs, etc. Without holidays our weeks would run together into years of humdrum mediocrity. What is October without children ringing our doorbells request for candy? What is November without turkey on the table and family colse to it? What is February with no heart-shaped boxes adorning the kitchen counter? The answer: boring months, I say.

Why We Celebrate Holidays

We also celebrate holidays because they are reasons to reconnect with family and long lost friends. Although we can make the endeavor to see family and close friends anytime, many people do not. Many people make holidays the times they reach out to other people. And not only is it leading to us to feel the warmth of family, we enjoy holidays because they bring out a sense of community. The bright red hearts decorating department stores in February, the blinking lights strung on lamp posts in December, these help us feel linked to something larger than ourselves.

In a world where get-togethers and barbecues do not happen as much as they used to in decades past. In a world where no one borrows sugar from his or her neighbor any longer or bakes a cake when someone moves on to the block, holidays tie us together.

I urge everybody to not throw holidays to the side of the street. Get out and decorate your home at Christmastime. Surprise your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend with a Valentine's Day gift. And right on have fun at Halloween. Even if you do not enjoy Halloween, I warrant the children in your neighborhood will appreciate you dressing up, putting a graveyard in your front yard and passing out candy.

Gabby Gator is Woody Woodpecker's Best Foe

Posted by Unknown

Woody Woodpecker faced some tough yet amusing adversaries in his absorbing adventures. They included Wally Walrus, Buzz Buzzard and Ms. Meany. My pick for his best adversary is Gabby Gator, though.

For those readers who do not remember him, Gabby was a absorbing green alligator who was ordinarily shown in a yellowish shirt and some sort of hat. He was not as creepy or tough as Buzz, but he gave Woody a run for his money. Also, he in case, granted some great comedic scenes.

Animated Halloween Props

The first valid appearance of Gabby Gator is the cartoon "Southern Fried Hospitality" (1960). Similar alligators like Gabby had appeared in the Woody cartoons "Romp in the Swamp" (1958) and "Everglade Raid" (1959) but it was "Southern Fried" where he is officially named, agreeing to information from The Walter Lantz Cartune Encyclopedia.

Gabby Gator is Woody Woodpecker's Best Foe

Gabby was voiced by Daws Butler, a legend in the animation world. He was the voice of many paramount cartoon characters. Besides voicing Gabby, he was the voice of Yogi Bear, Quick Draw McGraw, Scooby-Dum and Huckleberry Hound, to name a few. Also, Butler trained many working actors together with Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson), agreeing to my research. Other Lantz characters Daws gave voice to were Chilly Willy and his sidekick, Smedley the dog. But, back to Gabby...

The cartoon "Greedy Gabby Gator" (1963) is the last time the alligator was in a Woody Woodpecker short. The plot is similar to other Gabby appearances. Gabby sees Woody Woodpecker heading toward the Okedokee Swamp, so he nabs Woody and makes him think that he has arrived at Gabby's condition Resort. He manages to escape from Gabby with the help of a crocodile. Interestingly, Gabby Gator finds himself chased by the crocodile.

As much as I love Gabby as one of Woody's main foes, there is a drawback to Gabby-many of his cartoons are the same. In many of his appearances the gator is hungry and decides to eat Woody. Some cartoon lovers would argue that if you have seen "Southern Fried Hospitality," there is no presume to see any other Gabby cartoon. I disagree, of course.

Gabby's appearances:

Southern Fried Hospitality (1960)

Gabby's Diner (1961)

Woody's Kook-Out (1961)

Rock-A-Bye Gator (1962)

Rocket Racket (1962)

Voo-Doo Boo-Boo (1962)

Little Woody Riding Hood (1962)

Greedy Gabby Gator (1963)

Big Black Boots

Posted Sunday, July 21, 2013 by Unknown

Want to look sexy and stylish in your big black boots, but don't want to pay a bunch of money? Shopping for boots online is indubitably great because you find so many great prices and a fantastic choice without having to drive from store to store.

So let's take a look at some of the most favorite boots that I have found in any place on the Internet.

Animated Halloween Props

This large extra-wide calf boot comes in black or brown. The sizes range in any place from size 7 up to size 12. These boots stretch very generously so you won't have any problem looking one that fits. These knee high boots are pull on and don't have a zipper, and they will fit very loosely on the calf. They are not right boots at all and are meant for a casual fit.

Big Black Boots

They are made of microfiber and have a pointed toe and narrow heel - the look that is all the rage these days. The shaft of the boot is 15", so these will run above the calf and right at or slightly below the knee. You can get these boots at 0. A puny pricey? Maybe for my taste, but I am sure that some of you are willing to pay that much to get the exact set of knee-high boots that you want.

Looking for sexy black leather boots? Then you have found it right here with the Brooke leather studded boot that also runs about 0. These knee-high boots are studded from the bottom all the way to the top with rounded gunmetal suds, and they will indubitably draw their fair share of attention. The boot has a rounded toe and the front of it is 100% leather. They are 18" high and have a 15" calf opening.

These big black boots come in sizes fluctuating from 5 to 10. They should be spot cleaned to keep their shine. If you want to get noticed quickly, these black leather boots are the ones you need.

If you are looking for something a bit more accepted but still rather stylish, then take a look at tall regular shaft boots made just for women. These are knee-high boots that stand 14" tall with a 1" heel. They have a full zipper which means that you will have no problem at all getting them on. The insole is cushioned for maximum comfort, and the outsole is made with rubber to give you a good grip.

I indubitably like the look of this boot with its ornamental metal buckle that is on the top. These come in full black or brown, but my favorite is the black foot and top with the brown microfiber in the middle. These boots can run in any place from 0 to 0 online, and I would not mind paying that much for these at all. Once buyer bought this pair and they didn't fit quite right. They ended up returning them and were very happy with the buyer service, so feel free to give these big black boots a try with no risk at all.

Looking for big black boots more in tune with the price range? If so, then this knee high Denzel boot is just what you need. These boots are synthetic leather from top to bottom. They have a silver buckle that sets off the rest of the boot, and the needle stitch information still gives you style at a good price. These are made for wide calves and contribute a great fit around the top of the boot. They have a zipper and cushions insoles for comfort, and rubber outsoles to help keep you standing upright.

Ahh...I indubitably like the look of this Stunned Plus pair. A nice, fascinating paid of big black boots for less than 0. These are made specifically for wide calves, and are made from manmade material (tricot). They have a 14" shaft and a 2" heel. They have a full zipper and stretch a lot to fit just about anyone.

But the look is what indubitably sets these boots apart for me. They have the flat look on the front of the toe and a band around the top. The middle consists of a type of microfiber material. This along with buckle that wraps around like an bracelet indubitably makes these my absolute favorite.

There are all types of different boots other than knee high black boots. You have hiking boots, riding boots, and bike boots. Cowboy boots and dress boots have always been favorite with men and have indubitably caught on with women lately. Hip boots, thigh-high boots, and wedge boots are other options to the more tasteless knee-high boot. Work boots are a principal part of many people's lives. Some of the most tasteless work boot manufacturers are Timberland, Wellington, and Doc Martens.

Mummies Make excellent Monsters for Haunted Houses or Home Haunts

Posted Saturday, July 20, 2013 by Unknown

Mummies are underrated monsters and do not get the prestige they deserve. That creepy vertebrate from old Egypt wrapped in dusty bandages captures our imagination. I advise trying a mummy theme if you own a haunted house or if you turn your own home and garage into a haunt. The group will love your haunt and tell their friends and family about "that awesome mummy haunted house."

Mummies are odd movie monsters and haunted house creatures to me but ones that legitimately should be used more often. The group likes mummies as shown by many mummy movies throughout film history. Also, mummies' ties to old times make them more arresting than easy haunted house actors with fake hammers and kitchen knives.

Animated Halloween Props

A mummy as a movie monster was first introduced to movie-goers in The Universal Studios' film The Mummy (1932). It starred Boris Karloff. He played Prince Im-Ho-Tep, an old Egyptian who was mummified and comes back to life in contemporary times. The arresting thing about the film is Karloff is only seen bandaged as a mummy briefly when he returns to life. He looks like an older man throughout the rest of the movie. But, the film brought the concept of the mummy as a horror monster to life. And he kept coming back like all good monsters do.

Mummies Make excellent Monsters for Haunted Houses or Home Haunts

Universal Studios made many more Mummy films and Hammer Film Productions started their own Mummy series of movies. Hammer's first Mummy film, The Mummy, starred Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. It was in color, which was arresting to fans in 1959 when it was released. This time around, the Mummy is named Kharis and not Im-Ho-Tep. Of course, the Mummy came to life again in the more new series of Mummy films starring Brendan Fraser. No doubt, population are primed for a mummy-themed haunt.

There is another benefit to creating a mummy-themed haunt also the popularity of mummy films. With a mummy theme you can have consistency in your haunted house. Photograph it, Egyptian symbols throughout the haunt, actors dressed in bandages, mummy hand props scattered throughout the haunt, and lifelike snake props slithering about. Also, you can decorate your haunted house with many Egyptian sarcophagi. A sarcophagus was a type of coffin in old Egypt - a exquisite garnish for your haunt.

Yes, filling a haunted house with sarcophagi would be helpful to haunted house owners and scary to patrons. Like coffins, sarcophagi are exquisite places for actors to hide and leap out at customers as they strike for home straight through the haunt. A exquisite way to set up an Egyptian-themed haunt is to line an whole room of the haunted house with many sarcophagi. Place dummies in some coffins. Place real actors dressed as mummies in other coffins. I guarantee you will get good startles and screams from your patrons when the real actors jump out. population will love your haunted attraction and visiting it will make Halloween memorable for many customers!

I hope this article has given you some new ideas for your haunted attraction. Again, I encourage you to try a mummy theme. The Mummy films have the group primed for a "mummy" haunt and just the décor itself would be eerily amazing.

The Top 10 Best bad dream Movie Monsters

Posted by Unknown

Let us cut right to the chase...or right to the screaming as many of the folks on this list would prefer! Not only am I married to a top home haunter, I have been a big fan of nightmare movies (also called monster movies) for years. In my experience, as a fan of the genre, here are my top ten monsters of all time!

10. Kraken (1981)

Animated Halloween Props

From the 1981 Clash of the Titans, this is a mammal that stirs the imagination. Although the Kraken is a mammal of myth, it is the film version that everyone remembers. Who could forget the end scene of the customary Clash of the Titans where the Kraken comes for Andromeda? (What he wanted her for is not clear to me. Did he plan to eat her? request her to go for a swim?) At any rate, the Kraken was brought to life by the stop-motion animation of Ray Harryhausen, a legend in nightmare and fantasy movies. The image of Perseus turning the Kraken to stone is first-rate and so is this multi-armed monster in this writer's opinion.

The Top 10 Best bad dream Movie Monsters

9. mammal From the Black Lagoon (all versions)

There have been many movies about dreadful sea creatures, but mammal From the Black Lagoon is still the best. (Sorry, Jaws!) Released in 1954, it features a monster-like gill-man discovered on an expedition in the Amazon. Like many illustrious monsters of the silver screen, the mammal spawned sequels. The customary mammal of the Black Lagoon movie is being remade for a 2011 release, agreeing to the Imdb Web site.

8. Mummy (Boris Karloff)

Boris Karloff makes his first appearance on our list! The Mummy, directed by Karl Freund, is a 1932 nightmare film from Universal Studios. It starred Karloff as a revived old Egyptian minister called Imhotep. While the movie is not a drop-dead scare fest, it is a first-rate that is in the social memory of our society. When population think of mummies, they invariably think of Karloff shuffling out of his sarcophagus in bandages. The Mummy was semi-remade in The Mummy's Hand (1940) but it was Karloff's version that began the Mummy movies.

7. Michael Myers (all versions)

Michael Myers is the one who started the slasher genre. He first showed up in 1978's Halloween as a young boy who murders his older sister, and then returns home years later to kill again. His fights with Jamie Lee Curtis in the first two Halloween movies are excellent examples of how scary movie chases should work. Although, I think Michael's fights with Donald Pleasence (who played Dr. Loomis) are the best parts of the Halloween films. The only negative aspects to the Halloween movies to me are the continuity issues. For instance, Halloween Iii, although not a bad movie, has nothing to do with the other installments. Also, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later almost ignores established continuity from earlier movies with no explanation.

6. Dracula (Bela Lugosi)

Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian actor, best known for playing Count Dracula in the Broadway play and first-rate Universal Studios Dracula films, too. The now first-rate Dracula that made Lugosi a star came out in 1931. Although the movie is a petite slow and not as consuming as other Universal classics, such as the Frankenstein films, Lugosi made the film work. No matter how many vampire movies are made, too, this is the most memorable. Ask whatever who is Dracula and they immediately think of Bela's Dracula. His Dracula is an icon.

5. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund)

Robert Englund is best known for playing serial killer Freddy Krueger in the nightmare on Elm street film series. agreeing to Wikipedia, he received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A nightmare on Elm street 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and A nightmare on Elm street 4: The Dream devotee in 1988. I am not surprised. He was excellent as Freddy. The new Freddy cannot hold a candle, or dingy red sweater, to Englund. He approached playing Freddy with a aggregate of nightmare and comedy. His witty banter with his victims is the stuff of legend.

4. Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr.)

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may come to be a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright."

When you talk about werewolves, there is none best than Lon Chaney's Wolfman in the 1941 Universal Studios movie. From the iconic makeup to the gypsy curse, it is Chaney's Wolfman that society knows best, and with good reckon - it is a darn good movie that stands the test of time.

3. Frankenstein's Monster (Boris Karloff)

Do I precisely have to write that Boris Karloff's portrayal of the Frankenstein Monster is a first-rate mammal of the cinema? The crash of thunder, the sizzling laboratory machines, the monster's hand moving-these are the images we all have embedded in our minds. No version of the Frankenstein Monster gets best than Karloff's version from the first-rate 1931 nightmare film.

2. Leatherface (all versions)

Leatherface is the main killer in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror-film series. He wears masks made of his victims' skin (which is where the name Leatherface comes from) and is the character from the movie who usually carries a chainsaw. Not only is Leatherface one of the first slasher-type villains but he is drop-dead scary! While I think all versions of Leatherface are scary as heck, the best Leatherface actors were Gunnar Hansen (from the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and Bill Johnson (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2). I still think the scene in Massacre 2 when Leatherface runs, chainsaw roaring, out of the darkened radio center toward the lead female actor is horrifying.

1. Jason Voorhees (all versions)

Sure, Kane Hodder has played Jason more than any other actor, but I can't pick one Jason that is best than another. Each actor who played the undead slasher Jason Voorhees brought something new to the role. Jason Voorhees is the killer from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th (1980); although, he was not the main villain in the first movie. Jason is a great character because of the iconic hockey mask, the creepy camp setting, and because you feel some pity for him. He was a deformed child who was mocked by peers and ignored by camp counselors. He also loves his mommy. (Watch the movies and you will see what I mean.) Because he evokes pity in the audience, he is a petite like Frankenstein's Monster but right on more evil.

Agree with my choices? Disagree with me? Post a comment. And remember to watch over your shoulder when walking in the woods at night. The guys above may be stalking.

The Top 10 Best bad dream Movie Monsters

A friend and I were discussing first-rate cartoon characters, such as Tom and Jerry and Woody Woodpecker, around the water cooler. We discussed why many cartoons from the golden age of animation were more adult than childish. We also discussed why characters like Woody Woodpecker changed from crazy to responsible adult throughout the years. There are many reasons why the pre-World War Ii characters and cartoons changed over the years.

Most habitancy are aware that cartoons in the 1930s, 40s, and even 50s were more adult in nature. Characters drank, smoked, and worried about taxes. For example, I remember a Woody Woodpecker cartoon in which Buzz Buzzard was considered to sign Woody up for a life insurance policy. But, Buzz was going to make himself the beneficiary, knock Woody off and keep the insurance money. Pretty heavy stuff. Let's dive into why cartoons were more adult like in this example.

Animated Halloween Props

First off, cartoons were more adult back in the golden age of animation because cartoons used to be shown before theatrical movies. Many of us Generation Xers and those who have come after us are used to looking cartoons on television. (Who doesn't remember the first-rate Looney Tunes opportunity used in the 1980s in which all the illustrious Looney Tunes characters paraded across the stage?) But, before cartoons were on television, they were in the movie theaters. For example, Tom and Jerry cartoons were shown before Mgm movies. Woody Woodpecker and friends were shown before Universal movies. Of course, Looney Tunes cartoons preceded Warner Bros. Movies.

classic Cartoon Characters, Such As Woody Woodpecker, and Cartoons Themselves Have Changed

Now, as for why the pre-World War Ii characters like Woody Woodpecker acted in insane ways is because the animators and creators were young men feeling their oats. It makes perfect sense that early Woody Woodpecker, for example, was wild and crazy. Later on, as the creators began settling down and raising families, characters like Woody became more domesticated. Woody started caring for his nephew and niece, Knothead and Splinter. Meanwhile, over at Looney Tunes, Sylvester the Cat began raising his son. Even Foghorn Leghorn became a father shape to Miss Prissy's son, Egghead, Jr.

Yes, the post-World War Ii cartoon characters were dissimilar from how they were before the war and for good reason. Part of the surmise is because of the fact cartoons were shown in theaters before adult audiences. Also, animators' real-life personalities seeped into the characters and the characters changed as the creators' lives changed. And, of course, the fact cartoons started being shown on television meant characters needed to be tamed down a little. But, we'll get into cartoons being edited for television in other article.

The marvelous thing is all the first-rate cartoon characters, such as Wood Woodpecker, Andy Panda and Daffy Duck, live on in television reruns and Dvd sets. I thoroughly enjoy watching the adventures of old-school characters, such as Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig, whether we are talking about their early cartoons or later episodes. That's all folks...for now.

Mummies are underrated monsters and do not get the credit they deserve. That creepy mammal from antique Egypt wrapped in dusty bandages captures our imagination. I suggest trying a mummy theme if you own a haunted house or if you turn your own home and carport into a haunt. The group will love your haunt and tell their friends and house about "that awesome mummy haunted house."

Mummies are odd movie monsters and haunted house creatures to me but ones that categorically should be used more often. The group likes mummies as shown by many mummy movies throughout film history. Also, mummies' ties to antique times make them more tantalizing than straightforward haunted house actors with fake hammers and kitchen knives.

A mummy as a movie monster was first introduced to movie-goers in The Universal Studios' film The Mummy (1932). It starred Boris Karloff. He played Prince Im-Ho-Tep, an antique Egyptian who was mummified and comes back to life in contemporary times. The tantalizing thing about the film is Karloff is only seen bandaged as a mummy briefly when he returns to life. He looks like an older man throughout the rest of the movie. But, the film brought the concept of the mummy as a horror monster to life. And he kept advent back like all good monsters do.

It was in color, which was tantalizing to fans in 1959 when it was released. This time around, the Mummy is named Kharis and not Im-Ho-Tep. Of course, the Mummy came to life again in the more recent series of Mummy films starring Brendan Fraser. No doubt, people are primed for a mummy-themed haunt.

There is other advantage to creating a mummy-themed haunt besides the popularity of mummy films. With a mummy theme you can have consistency in your haunted house. Photo it, Egyptian symbols throughout the haunt, actors dressed in bandages, mummy hand props scattered throughout the haunt, and lifelike snake props slithering about. Also, you can decorate your haunted house with many Egyptian sarcophagi. A sarcophagus was a type of coffin in antique Egypt - a exquisite ornamentation for your haunt.

Yes, filling a haunted house with sarcophagi would be helpful to haunted house owners and scary to patrons. Like coffins, sarcophagi are exquisite places for actors to hide and leap out at customers as they jaunt through the haunt. A exquisite way to set up an Egyptian-themed haunt is to line an entire room of the haunted house with many sarcophagi. Place dummies in some coffins. Place real actors dressed as mummies in other coffins. I certify you will get good startles and screams from your patrons when the real actors jump out. people will love your haunted attraction and visiting it will make Halloween memorable for many customers!

I hope this description has given you some new ideas for your haunted attraction.

Not only am I married to a top home haunter, I have been a big fan of horror movies (also called monster movies) for years. In my experience, as a fan of the genre, here are my top ten monsters of all time!

10. Kraken (1981)

Animated Halloween Props

From the 1981 Clash of the Titans, this is a mammal that stirs the imagination. Although the Kraken is a mammal of myth, it is the film version that everybody remembers. Who could forget the end scene of the customary Clash of the Titans where the Kraken comes for Andromeda? (What he wanted her for is not clear to me. Did he plan to eat her? request her to go for a swim?) At any rate, the Kraken was brought to life by the stop-motion animation of Ray Harryhausen, a legend in horror and fantasy movies. The image of Perseus turning the Kraken to stone is classic and so is this multi-armed monster in this writer's opinion.

9. mammal From the Black Lagoon (all versions)

There have been many movies about terrifying sea creatures, but mammal From the Black Lagoon is still the best. (Sorry, Jaws!) Released in 1954, it features a monster-like gill-man discovered on an expedition in the Amazon. Like many notable monsters of the silver screen, the mammal spawned sequels. The customary mammal of the Black Lagoon movie is being remade for a 2011 release, agreeing to the Imdb Web site.

8. Mummy (Boris Karloff)

Boris Karloff makes his first appearance on our list! The Mummy, directed by Karl Freund, is a 1932 horror film from Universal Studios. It starred Karloff as a revived old Egyptian clergyman called Imhotep. While the movie is not a drop-dead scare fest, it is a classic that is in the public memory of our society. When habitancy think of mummies, they invariably think of Karloff shuffling out of his sarcophagus in bandages.

Also, Halloween H20: 20 Years Later approximately ignores established continuity from earlier movies with no explanation.

6. Dracula (Bela Lugosi)

Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian actor, best known for playing Count Dracula in the Broadway play and classic Universal Studios Dracula films, too. The now classic Dracula that made Lugosi a star came out in 1931. Although the movie is a small slow and not as consuming as other Universal classics, such as the Frankenstein films, Lugosi made the film work. No matter how many vampire movies are made, too, this is the most memorable. Ask whatever who is Dracula and they immediately think of Bela's Dracula. His Dracula is an icon.

5. Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund)

Robert Englund is best known for playing serial killer Freddy Krueger in the horror on Elm road film series. agreeing to Wikipedia, he received a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for A horror on Elm road 3: Dream Warriors in 1987 and A horror on Elm road 4: The Dream specialist in 1988. I am not surprised. He was excellent as Freddy. The new Freddy cannot hold a candle, or dingy red sweater, to Englund. He approached playing Freddy with a compound of horror and comedy. His witty banter with his victims is the stuff of legend.

4. Wolfman (Lon Chaney Jr.)

"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright."

When you talk about werewolves, there is none great than Lon Chaney's Wolfman in the 1941 Universal Studios movie. From the iconic makeup to the gypsy curse, it is Chaney's Wolfman that society knows best, and with good calculate - it is a darn good movie that stands the test of time.

3. Frankenstein's Monster (Boris Karloff)

Do I literally have to write that Boris Karloff's portrayal of the Frankenstein Monster is a classic mammal of the cinema? The crash of thunder, the sizzling laboratory machines, the monster's hand moving-these are the images we all have embedded in our minds. No version of the Frankenstein Monster gets great than Karloff's version from the classic 1931 horror film.

2. Leatherface (all versions)

Leatherface is the main killer in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre horror-film series. He wears masks made of his victims' skin (which is where the name Leatherface comes from) and is the character from the movie who ordinarily carries a chainsaw.

Sure, Kane Hodder has played Jason more than any other actor, but I can't pick one Jason that is great than another. Each actor who played the undead slasher Jason Voorhees brought something new to the role. Jason Voorhees is the killer from the Friday the 13th series. He first appeared in Friday the 13th (1980); although, he was not the main villain in the first movie. Jason is a great character because of the iconic hockey mask, the creepy camp setting, and because you feel some condolence for him. He was a deformed child who was mocked by peers and ignored by camp counselors. He also loves his mommy. (Watch the movies and you will see what I mean.) Because he evokes condolence in the audience, he is a small like Frankenstein's Monster but right on more evil.
